Carbide.ui is now a family of tools for creating themes for Symbian and Series 40 devices.

Carbide.ui Theme Edition 2.0 has been released through the Symbian Foundation. This new version, which supports theme development for Symbian OS, S60 5.0, prepares Carbide.ui to support future Symbian releases.

Carbide.ui Series 40 Theme Edition 3.5 provides enhanced editing support for Series 40 device themes.

Note: Developers wishing to create themes for Symbian OS, S60 2.0 or audio themes for Nokia S60 on Symbian OS can do so by using Carbide.ui 3.4 Theme Edition.

Description

The Carbide.ui family of tools enables the creation of themes for Symbian and Series 40 devices. Carbide.ui provides access to the more than 1,000 customizable theme elements in the Symbian UI, which makes the Symbian UI the most customizable UI available. Carbide.ui is designed for professionals and hobbyists alike.

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2 or later; Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2 or later; or any version of Microsoft Windows Vista.
  • 1 GB of RAM (2 GB of RAM is recommended).
  • 1 GB of free disk space.
  • 1.5-GHz processor (a 2.8-GHz processor is recommended).
  • A sound card is recommended.
  • A display supporting 16-bit color at 1280 x 1024 pixels.
